Getting started with FaceMatch
FaceMatch updates profile photos in your Apple Contacts address book. Everything runs on your iPhone or iPad — you choose what to apply.
What you need
- An iPhone or iPad with the FaceMatch app installed from the App Store
- Contacts permission when the app asks (required for core features)
- Optional: email, phone, or social URLs on contact cards for better matching
First launch
1. Open FaceMatch and complete the welcome screens.
2. Tap Allow when iOS asks for Contacts access.
3. Optional: connect social accounts during onboarding, or skip and sign in later.
4. Tap Continue to open your contact list.
Ways to get photos from social networks
FaceMatch supports three options for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google, and other networks:
| Option | Where to go | When to use |
|---|---|---|
| Account Sign-In | Settings → Account Sign-In | Connect an account for automated API matching |
| Import from Files | Settings → Import from Files | Import exports (LinkedIn CSV, Google Takeout, Meta JSON) or photo folders |
| Share from Safari | Contact → Share Photo from Browser | Save one profile photo from the browser |
Use whichever fits — none are required. FaceMatch always matches from data on contact cards.
